Different reasons. The same wish to be understood.

Our guests do not need to fit one type. They share a preference for a journey that listens before it leads.

04 / A JOURNEY, DESIGNED IN REAL LIFE

DESIGN STUDY · CLEARLY LABELLED

Beneath the river, inside the mountain.

A design study for an architecture-minded traveller: Baiheliang’s underwater record, the 816 underground project, wartime shelters and the everyday life that returned to them. It is not a published guest itinerary and does not invent a client story.

05 / PRIVATE MEANS PRIVATE

Your journey belongs to you.

We never publish a guest’s identity, photographs or private itinerary without permission. Some journeys are described only through places, design decisions and what we learned together. Discretion is not the absence of a story; it is part of the service.

No staged testimonials. No invented partnerships. Only what we can explain honestly.

06 / JOURNEY IDEAS

We begin with a question, not a package.

These are design directions rather than fixed itineraries. The final route begins only after we understand your interests, pace, family and non-negotiable needs.

FROM MORNING MIST TO THE COMMUNITY TABLE

A day in Chongqing should feel like entering a story.

The route is only a thread. Weather, appetite, energy and conversation decide the rhythm. Here is how one parallel day may unfold.

01
A Chongqing bridge appearing through morning fog

06:40 · ARRIVAL

We meet in the mist.

At the station or airport, there is no signboard and no rehearsed speech — only a familiar face, warm soy milk, and the first view of a city appearing through fog. On the drive in, yellow taxis loop above the river as if the roads were drawn in the air.

02
A neighborhood market in Chongqing at the start of the day

08:10 · THE MARKET

Breakfast begins with the people who wake first.

The market is already speaking: eggs stacked by shade, knives tapping boards, steam catching the light. A vendor teaches you the local name for an ingredient. You stop being someone who looks, and become someone who asks.

03
Steep stairs winding through a residential Chongqing community

11:30 · THE SHORTCUT

The path home passes through other people’s lives.

We take the stairs residents use — around old trees, through apartment courtyards and past laundry in the sun. The city’s verticality becomes more than a photograph; it becomes a way to understand how people live together on a mountain.

04
Local swimmers and daily life beside the Yangtze River

15:20 · THE RIVER

The river is not scenery. It is a daily ritual.

Someone fishes, someone swims and someone carries the day’s work uphill. When we stay long enough, Chongqing’s most memorable images are often ordinary people continuing with their lives.

05
Neighbors sharing tea around a small table in a Chongqing courtyard

18:10 · THE COMMUNITY TABLE

What began in the market becomes a shared dinner.

Ingredients are washed, stories are translated, and hands learn before words do. Dietary choices and other important arrangements are confirmed before cooking begins. By the time dishes reach the table, host and guest no longer feel like separate roles.

07 / A REAL JOURNEY, ANONYMISED

MUSLIM-FRIENDLY · CHONGQING · PERSONAL DETAIL

A Muslim-Friendly Chongqing Stay with a Personal Celebration

For Muslim international guests visiting Chongqing, we selected accommodation with practical access to Muslim dining and mosque resources, coordinated suitable meal arrangements, and included a birthday celebration without disrupting the pace of the journey.

This reflects how we combine dietary needs, local logistics and personal details within one coordinated journey.

08 / HOW WE DESIGN

The itinerary is not selected. It is developed.

Our internal process stays rigorous so your experience can feel natural.

01

Begin with a conversation

Dates and destinations matter, but so do the people travelling, their curiosity, energy and way of life.

02

Find the central thread

Architecture, family memory, food, community, faith or private comfort becomes the story that holds the journey together.

03

Connect the right people and places

We choose relationships and settings where an experience can happen with respect, rather than stacking popular sights.

04

Verify the details

Transport, food, prayer, privacy, weather, physical rhythm, contracts, insurance and alternatives are checked before arrival.

05

Keep adjusting in real time

A private journey remains private after confirmation. We can slow down, rest, change direction or stay longer.

09 / FOR MUSLIM TRAVELLERS

Your needs are welcomed clearly, not hidden in the fine print.

Every culture and family is welcome at YINYU. We also keep this space specific so Muslim travellers can see how halal food, prayer planning, privacy and family comfort are discussed from the beginning.

01

Food with clarity

We distinguish verified halal options from halal-friendly arrangements and discuss ingredients, kitchens and alternatives honestly.

02

Prayer in the day’s rhythm

Routes leave room for prayer times, suitable pauses and nearby spaces whenever conditions allow.

03

Comfort for the whole family

Private transport, thoughtful pacing, alcohol-free moments and respectful hosts create room to travel at ease.

04

A plan reviewed with you

Important details and alternatives are confirmed before arrival, without making your needs feel like an inconvenience.

10 / CHONGQING, LIVED LOCALLY

A neighborhood is not scenery. It is a relationship.

Echo’s regional roots

YINYU begins with a local life, not a tourism product.

Echo was born in Western Hunan and grew up in Chongqing. Her regional understanding comes from lived family connections between the two places — dialect in wet markets, family tables, neighborhood mahjong, hillside routes and the ways culture continues in ordinary life.

Her grandmother is an inheritor of traditional Chinese paper-cutting. Watching red paper become blessings, flowers and family memory taught Echo to distinguish culture that is performed from culture that is still being lived.

A cross-cultural lens

CC’s experience living in China and abroad remains part of the team’s perspective, while feedback from international guests and creators continues to shape how YINYU explains Chongqing to the world.

Culture is not a performance we stage. It is a relationship we are trusted to share.
